Research

01.
What do you do with an expert after you've collected transcripts of previous testimony?
-
02.
Have you gone far enough?
-
03.
Are you fully prepared for that doctor, engineer, economist, nurse, police officer, chiropractor?
When you want to go beyond IDEX or a simple Google query, let us do your research - here's a sampling of what we have found...
Looking into expert witnesses:
- The expert who began to testify frequently after his finances went south.
- The expert who completely lost it after testifying he wasn't in court for a fee and didn't care about such things. He was offered a picture of himself on his yacht, receiving a large trophy after a race. It was found on the internet.
- The physician who reviewed the plaintiff's complex medical records while he was on disability himself, claiming cognitive injuries after a sign fell on his head. (The attorney who retained the doctor had also represented the expert on his personal injury case.)
- The over-credentialed economist who had no credentials at all.
And don't forget the adverse parties:
- Plaintiffs who denied, during testimony, being involved in other lawsuits or that they had been convicted of crimes. This was later proven to be untrue by our research. Naturally, we also review the related public records.
- A nurse co-defendant who claimed she was judgement proof, found working on her newly acquired orange groves in Florida.
- Vetting of witnesses whose credibility is crucial to the case.

While conducting surveillance, the investigator followed the subject on a plane to Florida. The result was capturing the subject on vacation and over 2 hours of playing handball and paddle ball. A savings of over $500,000 on a NY Labor Law Case.

I have known Terry Lasky for over 20 years and have never found a more thorough investigator. While TC Lasky’s results speak for themselves, his equipment, techniques and personnel are always at least one step ahead of other investigative companies. I once asked Terry what he looks for in a good investigator – he told me he looks for “anal retentive puzzle solvers”. To me, that pretty much describes what we do in insurance defense and we need more puzzle solving companies like TC Lasky to make us look good.
