Terry C. Lasky

FOUNDER AND PRINCIPAL
2/1976–7/2021

Terry C. Lasky grew up in New York City and lived and studied in Paris in the late 1960s. When he came home, and after earning his Bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in French, he went to work as a legal assistant with the Legal Aid Society – Criminal Division, first in the Bronx and then in Manhattan. He intended to “read the law” and sit for the NYS bar exam after four years, getting leave to do so from the NYS Court of Appeals. However, he found his niche with the Legal Aid Society where attorneys depended upon Terry for their field investigations and a variety of research. Investigation became a primary interest and following a brief stint in the Inspector General’s office of the NYC Department of Correction, Terry turned to the civil side. He founded the company in 1976 and was able to mesh his paralegal knowledge and investigative skills uniquely, offering them to attorneys, insurance companies, hospitals, banks, corporations, Wall Street houses, etc., often for litigation-related matters. Ever since its inception, TC Lasky Associates, Inc. has been a leader in its field, an innovator, always on the cutting edge of technology, the standard that other investigators set for themselves.

Patricia Blake Lasky

Patricia B. Lasky, Terry’s business partner and wife, was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in the Caribbean. She attended Trinity College, studied in Italy, and trained in psychoanalysis, including graduate work at Columbia University. Patricia has had extensive experience in clinical and private therapy settings. The skills she developed have been invaluable to the company over the past many years. She is bilingual English/Spanish and can lend a psychological analysis to cases and subjects of investigation where hunches simply won’t do.

Malcolm B. Lasky

Malcolm is the next generation of the investigative team. He was born in New York City and raised up north. He developed an interest in the family business, in both the background research component and in fieldwork management, and he became duly licensed a few years ago. The previous generation finds his inventiveness and doggedness indispensable attributes, surpassed only by his New York State award-winning writing. TC Lasky Associates looks forward to Malcolm’s always-surprising innovations.
